Jersey Village boasts tree-lined neighborhoods, bustling shopping areas, and easy access to Downtown Houston. It’s located in the northwestern section of the Houston Metro area. While it’s often considered – albeit informally – as a part of the Cy-Fair community, Jersey Village is a full-fledged city that’s home to over 7,000 people.

This small city traces its roots back to 1953 when Clark W. Henry and LeRoy Kennedy began developing the lots surrounding Jersey Lake. From the 1960s to the 1980s, the community’s population grew as schools, a golf course, and other modern amenities were built in the area.

Homes in Jersey Village can cost anywhere between $370,000 and $1 million. The market is dominated by single-family units which are situated on generous lots. You’ll find several listings that sit on quarter- to multi-acre lots.

WHAT YOU’LL LOVE

  • Jersey Meadow Golf Course is smack dab in the middle of the city. The facility has a fairly challenging 18-hole course, chipping and putting greens, a driving range, a well-stocked pro shop, and a decent restaurant and bar. The golf course is located on land that was once part of the 1,200-acre ranch of Clark W. Henry.

  • Wide selection of local shops and malls. Living in Jersey Village puts you within striking distance of several retail spots. Traders Village Houston is an expansive outdoor flea market that has a little bit of everything for everyone. Other commercial areas in and around the city include Northwest Village, Jersey Village Plaza, and Westbridge Plaza.

  • Access to schools under the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District. Home buyers with young children will appreciate being close to several schools in the area like Post Elementary, Jersey Village High School, and Emmott Elementary.

  • Proximity to major thoroughfares. It only takes less than 20 minutes to drive from Jersey Village to Houston. It is also minutes away from US Highway 290 and Beltway Loop 8, both of which can take you to other parts of the metro area.
