Once a railroad and oil boomtown, this small city has since become one of the highly desirable places to live in Greater Houston. What’s more, the city is a key commercial hub in Houston’s northwest section, with companies like BJ Energy Solutions and Ford having offices in the area.

The local market is known for its sizable residential properties on generous lots, making it suitable for family-oriented buyers and those looking for more space to enjoy home life. Most of the housing stock comprises single-family homes, with a few townhouses.

WHAT YOU’LL LOVE 

  • Tomball is steeped in history. Pay a visit to the Tomball Railroad Depot Plaza and the eponymous Museum Center to learn about the city’s roots through a variety of artifacts, historic structures, and model railroads. 

  • A premier country club. The private Tomball Country Club is where you’ll enjoy a beautifully designed 18-hole course. The first nine holes were built in 1948 while the other half was completed several decades later in 2001. There’s also a nearby lake where members can fish for Florida hybrid bass.

  • Access to schools under the Tomball Independent School District. Wherever you choose to reside in the city, you’ll be minutes away from several good schools served by one of the top school districts in the Houston area, including Willow Creek Elementary, Tomball Elementary, and Tomball Intermediate, to name a few. 

  • Local shopping and entertainment. The Tomball Town Center and Four Corners Shopping Center are two of the biggest commercial areas in town where you’ll find everything you need. Tomball Bowl is a family-friendly haunt for bowling and special occasions.
